Some Are Just Disgusting
PZ Myers pointed out this little documentary on Islam’s attempted domination of the world. I tend to agree with PZ regarding the general comparative religion education in schools but I disagree with leaving some out (if that’s what was implied). Scenes like this add vital fuel to the fire against such disgusting acts and 1st century ideas.

No, I did not create this video (as someone posted in the Pharyngula comments) … It was created by RandomSlice Michael Edmondson on behalf of the Expelled filmmakers.
UPDATE: Simon Owens has a brief interview with Edmondson on the artist’s intentions behind the short viral video and its sequel.

Expelled… Exposed.
If you haven’t heard about the bundle of idiocy that is the creationist propaganda documentary Expelled or the debacle that resulted from a public screening, then I direct you here, here and here. And when you’re done shaking your head at the fact that junk like this actually makes it onto theater screens, head on over to the fabulous Dr. Eugenie Scott’s web site, Expelled Exposed, completely devoted to dispelling myths from the movie. Me thinks we need to print up some brochures with that URL and hand them out to folks leaving the theaters.
Making a Mux of things
Muxtape is a new site/service that is aiming to replace our old mixtapes with digital muxtapes. The idea is simple… create an account, upload songs and give someone the URL. I’m not sure about the legality of this though there doesn’t seem to be a way to download any songs and they do seem to have a few regulations put in place (such as only one song per artist and only one muxtape per user).
Here is my current muxtape.
How far would you go?
Robert Salisbury arrived home to thirty people picking through the last of his stuff after someone posted a couple of fake ads on Craigslist saying Salisbury had been forced to leave the area and all his belongings, including his horse, were up for grabs.
Luckily, the woman who came to retrieve the horse thought the situation seemed odd, given the condition of the horse, and called Mr. Salisbury to verify the ad. Salisbury immediately started home, passing cars and trucks loaded down with his belongings all the way there.
On his way home he stopped a truck loaded down with his work ladders, lawn mower and weed eater.
“I informed them I was the owner, but they refused to give the stuff back,” Salisbury said. “They showed me the Craigslist printout and told me they had the right to do what they did.”
The driver sped away after rebuking Salisbury. On his way home he spotted other cars filled with his belongings.
Once home he was greeted by close to 30 people rummaging through his barn and front porch.
The trespassers, armed with printouts of the ad, tried to brush him off. “They honestly thought that because it appeared on the Internet it was true,” Salisbury said. “It boggles the mind.”
Is Craigslist liable? How far should they go towards releasing personal information in order to catch the hoax ad poster(s)?
But much more importantly, just how far would you go to get back at someone?

I think I’ll believe in Gosh
I think I’ll believe in Gosh instead of God. If you don’t believe in Gosh too, you’ll be darned to heck. - Unknown
Two short reasons
Just two short reasons why I love following Wil Wheaton’s Twitter.
I just coughed up a dwarf. He’s just sitting here in the living room, looking at me. He’s wearing UGG boots. This is awkward.
Okay. Sent the dwarf to Lothlorien to “pick up some soy milk.” Joke’s on him! I don’t need any soy milk!
